Excellent synopsis of body composition and believe me you are right on the mark. Another thing thats really great to measure (and simple to do) is to measure waist circumference. Sometimes it really is more important to lose inches, than it is to lose pounds as well. I certainly know when mine dropped by 2 cm last month, I was thrilled.

Just so everyone knows the scale works perfectly for me and would give me the numbers every time, but I NEVER check them. Perhaps I should now.

While I don’t have a fancy scale, I do still totally agree that you have to go by more than just pure weight loss. When I was in peak condition for my tri last year, my legs were huge and solid muscle from all the running and biking. It was kind of disturbing (to me). I didn’t lose much weight at all, because I was so hungry from all the training I was doing, but I did look much better!
